im not gonna even try to make sense out of all this crap completely but heres where my minds at right now.
I keep going back to the egyptian thing, they may not be egyptian gods themselves but they have too many similarities to
ignore completely.
Jacob is a fucking wierdo, i keep seeing shit with him having to do with Horus who is the god of war and protection but that
doesnt really relate to anything going on with him. its kind of confusing.
Personally i see him wearing lots of white and blonde hair and think its more akin to Ra the most powerful god. well he was
made the most powerful god for awhile when the egyptians merged him with ...HORUS... goddamnit.
heres a little breakdown on ra
everyday he sails through the heavens on a BOAT called the " Barque of a million years" or
"Million year boat" or something to that affect. Alot of the egyptian shit is a mess and convoluted but
apparently he would ride this boat through the heavens all day and try not to get eaten by a giant SERPENT
(sorta like the smoke snakey thing? maybe?) named Apep.
anyway he rode this boat to protect the sun from the underworld.
they also believe he died at every sunset and was reborn every morning.
theres a ton of parallels that could be taken from not just this but eveyr other light/sun god ever so who knows.
then theres man in black, lot of people just assuming hes the bad guy and have been saying Set/Seth, god of darkness
and the dessert.
I think hes more like Anubis, the egyptian god of the dead who protects the dead and tombs and coffins.
he also would weigh the lives of the newly dead to see where they went in the afterlife.
Anubis was black to match the color of the dead and the Black Soil of the nile river valley.
(Black soil = Black rock?) who knows.
another wierd thing is The giant statue is of Sobek, who is also a protection god and god of fertility. I
find this striking as clearly sobek isnt around other than the statue and babies couldnt be born on the island...
except for aaron who is blonde and light skinned like Jacob.
what does any of this mean? no fucking clue, but all the similarities are striking.
finally for the chains comment, anyone else notice that the smoke monsters noise is makes is that of chains being unfurled?
also i just found out that Anubis was Sobeks father.
